Our pond from start to finish.

This area was at first a Doughboy pool, 32' L x 16' W x 4' H. It had a deep end, but only about 14" deep from surface level. First we dug the hole bigger, and added a "bog" pond attached to it. Then we hired a professional landscaper to finish the rest. He dug part of it out some more, and built up the bog end so it would be higher than the main pond. We probably saved a lot of money digging out most of the pond ourselves. After it was cleaned out of rocks and whatever, they plumbed it, and then they laid down the thick rubber mat (by Goodyear) and shaped it to the pond. Then they put chicken wire over that and shaped it to the pond. Then they began the plastering of the mortar.

The pipe they used was three inch plastic type. You can see the cap off at the bottom of the plastered side of the pond here. |

| The workers carefully smoothed the plaster while it was still wet to get the desired curves and shape. |
| They shaped the bog side with a shelf for potted plants to sit. |

| Here you can see the ditch at the back side of the pond in the process of being dug for the plumbing to the equipment, and back again to the waterfalls. |

| Here the rocks have been delivered, and are being moved into place. The paving stones are in the foreground. |

| You can see here it rained a lot during this phase of the construction. The workers got a few days off, and the good news was the pond held water! |

| More rocks piled upon more rocks. I love my new rock collection. |
| Just finished! It cost a little over $9,000 to build. Later, I hired the same landscaper to add some plants at a cost of $330. |

| Water added, and metered to 1500 gallons. |

| A nice over all view. |

| The landscaper added plants for us. |

| More plants. |
| Added Podocarpus in the back, with some grassy plants. |

| Three of my new fish, Nova on the left, and Tangee on the right, and Moonsong behind Tangee. |

| We added a nice bench. |
